Kris Marshall - Marshalls Play Will Go Ahead

LATEST: The producers of a London play hope its main star KRIS MARSHALL recovers in time for the opening night.

The British actor was enjoying an evening with friends on the outskirts of Bristol, England, on Saturday night (26Apr08) when he was struck by a car while standing outside a pub.

The 34-year-old - who starred alongside the late Heath Ledger in 2002's The Four Feathers - was admitted to the Bristol Royal Infirmary hospital where he remains in a "stable condition".

But bosses behind the production, Fat Pig, insist Marshall will be well enough to perform in the opening show on 27 May (08) at the Trafalgar Studios in the British capital's West End.

A spokesperson for the show tells Whatsonstage.com, "(Marshall) is being monitored carefully, but we expect him to return to rehearsals (now in their third week) in a few days. The production will go ahead, with Marshall and as scheduled."
